JG Designers was created by Jessie Hilgenberg in 2005. Yep, that’s her right there in the picture to the left. She’s a native Nevadan who’s talent took her through design school at California State University, Chico, earning her a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design. While earning her design degree, she held the position as the first female Art Director of the University’s acclaimed newspaper, The Orion, since its first issue in 1975. During her art direction, The Orion won several awards such as National Newspaper Pacemaker and National Newspaper of the Year.
Jessie has been invited as a guest speaker to the Chico State Graphic Design Program, UNR Reynolds School of Journalism, TMCC Graphic Communications portfolio class, and in 2006 was invited to be a Graphic Design Portfolio Review judge at Chico State, where aspiring graphic design students’ portfolios are judged for entry into the esteemed upper-division Graphic Design program.
JG Designers is passionate about community service, having served on the boards of Ad2 Reno, a national organization providing young advertising, marketing and communication professionals the contacts, education and leadership opportunities needed to become industry leaders; and Nevada Project Heartbeat, an organization that saves lives by making Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) accessible throughout communities.
Through Ad2′s community service program, JG Designers has produced and helped lead more than five comprehensive public service advertising and marketing campaigns for non-profit organizations throughout northern Nevada.
